Red River will once again come alive with Bavarian spirit as the 19th annual Red River Oktoberfest is set to kick off Oct. 11-13, 2024.
Hosted by the Red River Chamber of Commerce, this event is a beloved tradition that blends German culture with the natural beauty of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
With a range of festivities, Oktoberfest promises to be a lively celebration of food, beer, music, and family-friendly entertainment.

Exciting Competitions and Unique Contests
The Red River Oktoberfest is known for its lighthearted and quirky contests that draw enthusiastic participants and spectators alike. Highlights include the ever-popular “Red River’s Strongest Man & Woman” competition, where participants showcase their strength through various feats. Additionally, the beard and mustache contests bring out the most creative facial hair, while the “Mr. & Mrs. Oktoberfest” contest crowns festival royalty based on their festive attire and charisma.
Another event staple is the stein-holding competition, where contestants see who can hold a full beer stein at arm’s length for the longest time without spilling a drop. This test of endurance and strength always brings energy to the crowd and is a fun tradition at the festival.
