Braw Beard and Moustache International Championship

Saturday 15th February 2025 at Drygate Brewery in Glasgow.

After SELLING OUT 6 years in a row, Scotland’s original Beard and Moustache Championships are coming back for another round!

Again we have teamed up with our good friends, The Liverbeards, to put on another historic event and raise money with a charity raffle for Chris’s House Suicide Awareness.

Along with the championships, Scottish rock band In Charge will be playing a live set to close the show before the award ceremony.

OPEN TO ALL COMPETITORS, The event is taking place in Scotland, but all nationalities are welcome to compete.

So far we’ve had Scotland, England, Wales, Isle of Man, Ireland, Belguim, Iceland, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Greece and USA represented!

Because this event historically sells out, please enter ONE CATEGORY PER PERSON ONLY to give everyone a fair opportunity to compete.

Categories:

Best Moustache – styled or natural, if there are enough entries, we may split into 2 categories. No beards allowed, all hair growing from more than 1.5 cm past the corner of the mouth must be shaved.

Best Partial Beard – from goatees, musketeers, amish, whaler, chinstraps to sideburns. * Patchy/very short beards do not qualify as partial beards *

Best Freestyle – anything goes, get creative, waxes, hairspray etc. Reckon you can create a thistle from your beard? Go for it.

Best Under 4″ Natural – Measured from the bottom lip, if your beard is shorter than 4 inches, get entered in this category. No products at all, including oil.

Best Under 4″ Styled – Measured from the bottom lip, if your beard is shorter than 4 inches, get entered in this category. Any products go, such as sprays, waxes, oils & balms.

Best Over 4″ Natural – Measured from the bottom lip, if your beard is longer than 4 inches, get entered in this category. No products at all, including oil.

Best Over 4″ Styled – Measured from the bottom lip, if your beard is longer than 4 inches, get entered in this category. Any products go, such as sprays, waxes, oils & balms.

Best Over 8″ Natural – Measured from the bottom lip, if your beard is longer than 8 inches, get entered in this category. No products at all, including oil.

Best Over 8″ Styled – Measured from the bottom lip, if your beard is longer than 8 inches, get entered in this category. Any products go, such as sprays, waxes, oils & balms.

Best Over 12″ Natural – Measured from the bottom lip, if your beard is longer than 12 inches, get entered in this category. No products at all, including oil.

Best Over 12″ Styled – Measured from the bottom lip, if your beard is longer than 12 inches, get entered in this category. Any products go, such as sprays, waxes, oils & balms.

Best Ginger Beard – It’s in the name really, we’re proud of ginger hair in Scotland, flaunt it. Anything goes! Styled or natural.

Best Fake Beard – If you can’t grow a beard but are handy with the creativity, get involved and make one. From wool to head hair, lego to playing cards, there is no limit.

Bring an electronic or print out for proof of purchase for entry. This will be exchanged for a Wristband. We do NOT send out physical tickets. Will we have your order number on the door to match with your ticket.

Competitor tickets are entry for your chosen category at BrawBMC 2025. Ticket price also includes competitor gift bag (RRP £15) & live band.

Night 1 on Friday, 14th February, will feature a live in-person chat show hosted by comedian Billy Kirkwood and Braw Beard founder John Jackson with four special guests:

• Professional wrestler and actor Jack Jester
• Musician, Cammy Barnes
• Artist and author, Tragic O’Hara

Night 2 on Saturday, 15th February, will showcase the beard and moustache competition with 13 categories, the Best Fake Beard and the Over 12” Beard and Freestyle categories continue to be crowd favourites, showcasing incredible creativity and grooming skills.

Building on the success of previous years, the 2025 championship is set to feature a diverse international line-up, with competitors hailing from the USA, Germany, Belgium, and Norway. This global participation underscores the event’s stature as a not-to-miss gathering in the international beard and moustache community.
