Have an award-winning beard? Prove it at our 4th Annual Viking Beard Competition! Viking gear encouraged. All ages welcome. Free entry. Come cheer on the participants as they strut their stuff on the beer hall runway. Prizes and laughs guaranteed.

Join Skål Beer Hall & Sea Wolf Voyages for our Fourth Annual Beard Competition! All beards and all genders welcome. Contestants will be judged on three equally weighted criteria: grooming, originality, and presentation (the night of the event). We are liberal with our interpretation of “beard”.
If you’d like to compete, we kindly ask you to fill out the below. The contest will begin at 5pm on Sunday Jan 19th. Our judges will be three local “Viking” personalities. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finalists with the grand prize being a $100 Skål gift card and the honor of a permanent wood round on our Valhalla Wall.
Contestants will be asked to strut their stuff in front of the judges to a musical accompaniment of their choice. Viking gear is welcomed but not required. Be uniquely you!
Check-in for the competition begins at 4pm. Sea Wolf Voyages will also be telling Sea Stories and engaging the crowd with their work prior to the beginning of the contest. 10% of sales during the event will go to Sea Wolf Voyages to support their non-profit Viking Ship Museum & educational programming.
There will be unique kitchen and bar specials for the evening. Details coming soon.
This event is open to all ages. No cover to attend or enter. This is one of our favorite events of the year and always draws a big crowd. If you’re a spectator, we encourage you to get here early to secure a viewing spot! Reservations for groups of 6 or more can be made at www.skalballard.com. Note the competition takes place inside in the “Back – Lounge” area of the beer hall.
